At a Dallas press conference held alongside the GOP midterm convention, State Rep. Salman Bhojani spoke out against what he called a troubling pattern of attacks on Muslim Texans — from the State Board of Education's new social studies curriculum, which critics say erases Muslim scholars' historic contributions to medicine, math, and science, to the HUD investigation into a Muslim-marketed housing development and Governor Abbott's terrorist designation of CAIR. Rep. Bhojani's remarks come amid a wider wave of anti-Muslim rhetoric targeting candidates like Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed ahead of the midterms.
